Break-up rumors were started around the same time the couple was officially married. The rumors were centered around where to live, with Kris wanting to move to his home state of Minnesota and Kim not wanting to officially commit to that. Kelsey Grammer’s divorce almost settled

Posted on October 24th, 2011 No Comments

A financial settlement is almost official in the divorce between Kelsey Grammer and Camille Grammer. The two experienced a very public divorce, with Kelsey being accused of adultery.

The Frasier actor and his now ex-wife did not have a pre-nuptial agreement, which entitles Camille to half of Kelsey’s fortune. The couple have two children together that Camille currently has full custody of, leaving Kelsey with visitation rights.

Kelsey was the main reason for moving the divorce proceedings along. He was never interested in the money, he just wanted to be officially divorced so that he could marry his current girlfriend. The main concern for him was the future of their children and how they would be taken care of.

Kelsey is currently remarried and living in New York City while Camille resides in California with their two children.

Revlon Head Ordered to Pay Ex-Wife $4.3M

An appeals court has ordered make-up magnate Ron Perelman to pay his ex-wife $4.3 million.

According to court documents, the Revlon president must pay his ex-wifre Ellen Barkin’s production company, despite his contentions that she’d violated their divorce deal. The appeals court, in a unanimous decision, said Perelmen signed agreements with Barkin and her production company were completely separate from their divorce accord.

The couple were divorce on Valentine’s Day 2006. Barkin received over $10 million in the divorce. Perelmen claimed Barkin had violated their divorce agreement, specifically its confidentiality clause, when Barkin spoke to New York Magazine earlier this year.

It is important to speak with an experienced divorce attorney before reaching a settlement. If you would like information on modifying alimony payments or separation agreements, please contact a San Diego divorce lawyer of Fischer & Van Thiel, LLP, by calling 760-722-7646.

Marcotte Brings Divorce Ban Back to Table

Posted on July 16th, 2010 No Comments

According to the San Diego News Network, “John Marcotte is back – and more committed to commitment than ever.” Marcotte is attempting to get around 695,000 signatures to allow his divorce ban to be on a ballot for voters. He is part of a Christian right movement that wants to protect the institution of marriage and keep it holy. The divorce ban is officially called, “2010 California Marriage Protection Act,” according to SDNN.

SDNN reports, “Marcotte, the Christian political activist who pioneered the anti-divorce movement, defended his decision to refile the initiative, saying Prop. 8 was not enough to protect traditional marriage.” Citizens would still be allowed to annul a marriage. But, annulments require certain conditions, and “we are not working anymore as a married couple” does not count.
